Respected or tainted

If a leader from your party deserts the party what do you call him? A dalbadaloo (party hopper) But if any leader from your rival party joins your party? It’s change of heart- comes reply from the leader. I read this joke in my school days but I find that this joke is practiced in real life in political arena day in and day out. You might be wondering which context I am referring to? Only yesterday some tainted ex-ministers were inducted in the State Cabinet of the BJP government. The ministers had been dropped or in other words were not considered for the ministerial berths when the BJP retained its government. The message was simple- Chief Minister doesn’t like such ministers in his cabinet in his second stint. But in a span of ten months they managed to secure their place in the cabinet. What resulted in the turnaround is baffling all including me.
